Yeah, maybe we gotta hibernate and winterize our scooters but with the spring will come celebration.

It’s not just for the young. It’s for anyone who wants it.

The Severnside Lions Scooter Club. I took the original photo at the summer “Ride-out”, a fantastic event – not supported by local press, but with a huge public following. They raised a ton of money which they awarded to local causes.
I decided to work a little on the original, allowing only the red to show through. It was a first for me (using the editing software in this way), and I’m pretty happy with the results.
Of course everyone has an opinion – mine (on the day) is the one that counted – but I’m interested to see if you think it was the right move?

I first wrote about the Ebretta back in May 2012… a classic Lambretta with an electric power train. Well, now Siagon Scooter Centre, the guys behind the Ebretta and the Vespa Styled version the Vtronic have released a Mk2 version. On the surface, not a lot has changed, and that’s a good thing. It still looks like a classic lammy. But under the skin, there are numerous improvements. The battery system now includes an integrated PMC, and the cells are smaller and more powerful. There’s a new SevCon digital display unit, and a DC converter so that standard lighting can be used… although LED lighting comes as part of the package.
It’s nice to see a project as visionary as this is still being pursued and developed. And that a company realises there is a market for classic scooter looks with state of the art internals. Of course, if an…

Very tempting. Yesterday I started the Scoot and I could tell that AKI as I call her, wanted to go for a spin. But since the roads weren’t plowed I figured I would have to wait. Hoping for a new years eve or new years day ride… I will call the ride the frosty ball. Hopefully the first of many frosty ball rides.

The scoot doesn’t have to be perfect. It will age, it will show imperfections over time. Try as we might; it will still age as we do. But there is beauty in aging. Once aged if cared for it will be called Classic.

Scooters are a lifestyle.

Scooterists are an unusual breed. We are going against the grain. When most people want huge SUVs or end of the world paramilitary vehicles, we shoot past them on a tiny vehicle. Smiling, naked, and free.
