Frosty Sunday

Today was a lovely day in the sun but a ride up the canyon in the shade proved to be frosty endeavor. Temperatures below 40 really do make for a cool ride but still, Jeff and I managed to get a quick one in before the early sunset. While the club forms, we are working on finding some fun easy rides which can share when we have many members. A quick jaunt from the Masonic Temple parking lot to the Oaks is a nice little short run.

Getting ready for winter.

Yeah…it’s changing out there and for some, not the better. The Winter means scooter riding becomes less frequent and your bike will be sitting for long stints while the roads are covered in snow. In order to make certain you don’t have to make a visit to the mechanic come Spring, there are a few precautionary measures you should take.

Buy a battery tender….

A battery tender is a little device that attaches to your batter and allows it to charge your scoot’s battery when it hasn’t been used for a long time. Not only does it help keep your battery fresh, it actually lengthens its life.

Pick up some Sta-bil…

Sta-bil is a safe fuel additive that will allow your gas to sit in the tank for up to 12 months without going bad.  In reality, gas can go bad in only a couple of months and can cause bad starts, back firing and other issues.  If you think your bike is going to be sitting for a while, Sta-bil is a cheap way to keep it fresh.

Buy a cover….

Even if your scoot is sitting in a garage and is protected from the elements, you still can have issues with dirt and dust. A cover is a simple way to ensure that your bike stays clean. Also, a cover is a great tool during normal months for keeping people from messing with your bike. If you park in one place all day, a cover tells people to back off.

There’s no question that we all want to protect our scoots and our investment. With these simple things (all of them quite cheap I might add), you can keep that ride ready for the road until the thaw.

Logo in progress!

A first draft has been designed and provided to a good friend who is in the badge business. She is looking into having our art prepped for patches and badges. Once I have the final version, the logo will be integrated into the web site. For now, we will retain this look and feel. Watch for an update soon!

Do you Flipboard?

Do you Flipboard?

If you are a fan of scooters and want to get daily pics and stories, I have a Flipboard magazine. Just search for “Scooter” and then subscribe. I usually add something each day and I am not bias toward any scooter brand. Each day I try to find a good selection that will interest anyone who loves to ride a scoot.

Northern Utah Riders

We welcome anyone who wants to ride! Our focus for the club will be riders located in Northern Utah but once we have a regular ride scheduled, we invite everyone to join us. If you have a scoot and are looking to come along, please drop an email to mikefine@gmail.com. I will add your name to be contacted once we schedule the events.

Join and Ride

We welcome scooters of all shapes and sizes to join our rides. Nothing compares to riding together on a scoot. It’s a fun sensation charting paths through our city and countryside. Feel free to contact us and watch this site to announce locations and times for our next ride.

Welcome to the club!

Welcome to the club!

Ogden is one of the most beautiful cities in the west. It’s majestic mountains and amazing scenery have long attracted explorers. In fact, it is the location of the first permanent European settlement in the state. If you own a scooter and want to spend time on it exploring Weber county and surrounding areas, contact us!
