Speaking of recalls…

It seems not a day goes by without more bad news regarding the General Motors ignition recall. Such things are not limited to cars and trucks, as you probably alreday know if you own a Genuine Stella 125 Automatic.

If you don’t know, here’s what’s up: As reported first by Scooterfile, Genuine Scooter Company is recalling all 2014 Stella Automatics to replace a potentially defective ECU. As this is a potential safety issue, this recall has been reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which will assign a recall number and make details available on its Web site.

Change is inevitable!

Half way through April’s ride, most of us were frozen and welcomed a meal at the Oaks. So, June was supposed to be our shot at circumnavigating Pineview on our bikes. However, upon arriving at the Canyon we discovered that our plans were thwarted by a short “paving project.” Strange since they repaved the entire canyon last year. Regardless, our plans had to change and we ended up taking a route along the bench and then up to a great lookout over the valley on the road to North Ogden Divide.

We welcomed three new members and our two new Vespa’s to our mix. It was a lot of fun getting out on a beautiful day and taking a run along the bench. I still viewed the ride as a success as we enjoyed each other’s company with a breakfast at Karen’s cafe.

Next month we plan to have two rides with a Saturday run in Ogden and a Davis county ride on Sunday giving us all a chance to make the most of the great weather in July.

Our sticker made it to Amerivespa!

As much as I would have loved to attend Amerivespa, the timing of this year’s event coincided with my daughter’s graduation from high school As such, it was impossible to make the trek to New Orleans. Still, while I couldn’t be there, our club was there in spirit. Note the sticker at the center of the top box.

39375c67f1f0b9b391c7039ea18620cf1f540ff9On the strength of my post about the video publicising his book, Martin “Sticky” Round sent me a copy to review. Which was nice. This is a first for me, as it’s the first “freebie” I’ve got through the blog. To be fair to my loyal readers though, I’m determined to give this a fair review, and be as honest and forthright as I can… and not just do a “puff piece”.

This was a tricky review to write. I could sum the whole post up in four words… but that wouldn’t do justice to the book. And I could ramble on for ages pouring more and more praise onto it, because this is simply a great book, but I suspect that my review would come across as a little dull if I did.

And this book is anything but dull. As readers of his work in Scootering will…

No expense has been spared in the build, with owner going “straight to the top’ and getting all the work being done by some of the best in the business… The paint is by Ty Layer ( Pageant Paiintwork ), Engraving by Adi Clark, Seat by Corky, 250cc Twin Targa Engine build by Stuart from the 100 MPH Lambretta Club, Hydraulic Clutch by Chris Sadd.McK$_57-3
