1978 Vespa Rally 200 VSE For Sale

1978 Vespa VSE

We have a person looking to sell a vintage Vespa due to time constraints for wrenching and riding on it.  The owner would be happy to see it go to someone who understands vintage scooters.  This bike was purchased new in 1977 or ’78.  The model is a VSE.  It’s got a 6 volt electrical system.  The owner has put some upgrades on it including front and rear shocks, Malossi 24/24 carb, Malossi 210cc Cylinder kit, tuned exhaust, new chrome and rubber, etc, etc .  It runs very well and is currently licensed.  He has a clean title for it.   If you know any interested parties please ask them to contact him via  text at the cell number below.  He is asking $3000.

Bajaj Bargains

Craig from the club found a couple scooters for sale that he thought members might be interested in:

2006 Bajaj Chetak, 1300 miles. $700

2002 Bajaj Chetak, 3,000 miles  $500

These are great retro scooters, and are both in excellent condition, albeit a tad dusty. He has ridden the 2006. These are Vespa-lookalikes, manual shift scooters with 4 stroke engines, and are being sold by an older couple at a very good price.

Salt Lake City’s Mountain Meadow Mayhem Rally!

I am really pleased to announced that the Mountain Meadow Mayhem Scooter Rally has now opened the doors to registration.

The event is Friday the 17th until Sunday the 19th. The folks at Aggro Street Wear host the event so it’s a cool way to get great scooter gear.
If you have never attended a scooter rally, they are a BLAST and a great way to spend a weekend. TBSC is an official sponsor of the event (We are taking donations for our sponsorship). A few of us will be attending some if not all the rides and showing our banner! We encourage everyone to attend!

June’s Saturday Ride is Tomorrow to Brigham City

Tomorrow marks our second ride of the month. Last week, while our numbers were smaller, we had a great ride to the Shooting Star with spectacular weather and good traffic.
Saturday June 27th at 11:00 AM, we will be meeting in the North End of the Smith’s Food King Parking Lot at 12th Street and Harrison Boulevard. Our focus is to take advantage of the Mountain Road rather than ride out on Wall to 89 to the Fruit Road. It will give us a fun ride with more twists and turns.
Hope to see you there!

Two New Rides for June

With the bonny weather and great riding conditions, we have scheduled two rides this month! 71472502

June 21st, 2015 at 1:00 PM

The first will be our traditional Sunday ride but we will be starting later with a ride up to Huntsville for a visit to the Shooting Star Saloon for the best burger in the state! The oldest operating bar in Utah, the “Shooting Star” reeks of character and fun. We will meet at our normal spot and then ride to the “Star” for a burger, some pool and fun!

Our second ride will be a Saturday trip up north to the fruit roads and to the lovely town of Brigham City. We will take a spin down Main Street and stop at the famous “Peach City” for lunch.  The ride to Brigham is a good cruiser along the old Highway and on the way back, some might want to stop at Smith and Edwards to pick up a cool scooter jacket! We look forward to seeing you all!

Dang that rain!

Yes, it happened again. Our April ride got pushed out a week and now our May ride is being pushed as well. However, the good news is that it will still be in May. The ride is next Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Union Station. Forecasts for the 30th are for sunshine and warmer temperatures. Hope to see you there!

High Desert Gathering

Here is an upcoming rally that will be held in Grand Junction. Last year, Mark from the club went and said it was terrific. I encourage everyone to attend as rally’s are a lot of fun and a great excuse to get your scooter out of town. As it approaches, we can work together to coordinate bike transport.

RIDE POSTPONED ONE WEEK

This morning is looking pretty wet and the forecast for the remainder of the day is wind and rain. While I certainly don’t mind a splash or two, in the interest of safety, comfort and attendance, we will simply postpone the ride one week.

Sunday May 3rd at 11:00 AM we will meet at Cherry Hill for our ride. There will also still be a ride or two in May.

Thank you riders!

Escape to the country : St. Georges day ride out 2015.

retrospectivemodernism's avatarRetrospective modernism

This morning I jumped on the scooter. Met up with a gang of fifteen scooter riders and headed out through north London to Epping Forrest for the Saint George’s day ride out.
Sporting my new Hedon helmet, we spent the day cruising with 250+ other Vespa’s and Lambretta’s along fields and down winding roads. After splitting from the pack, we came back through into London and stopped by Gods Own Junkyard. Here’s to more of these sorts of days.
