Christmas Parade was a Blast!

This year Two Bit took part in the Ogden Electric Light Parade. The event features a number of floats and vehicles as well as marching bands, dancers and the like. You know…a parade. We had an excellent showing with 11 members attending and nine bikes riding in the event.

Each member decorated their scoot with various Christmas elements including lights, bows and other fun stuff.  We lined up on the parade route and when our turn came, we made the most of the experience. Club members zipped around in circles, performed figure 8s and raced past the crowd back and forth as the parade moved down Washington Boulevard.

Honking our horns and making a ruckus, it was an absolute blast and best of all, the crowd loved it! We had kids cheering at us and we received a lot of applause. Gavin carried the club sign, Shawn and Dave were popping wheelies and the rest of the club enthusiastically demonstrated why scooters are AWESOME!

Thanks to all those who attended and a special thanks to Ogden City for letting us be a part of the event.

SATURDAY – Christmas Parade!

This Saturday afternoon is our first ever parade ride and we ask that as many people attend as possible. There are five great reasons to come!
1. The weather is supposed to be warm with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
2. If you have never seen Ogden’s Christmas Village, it’s a really great spectacle. Loads of colorful lights in little tiny decorated houses. It’s a VERY popular attraction that brings people from across the state.
3. It’s a chance to be in a parade…I mean…who doesn’t love a parade.
4. It’s short, the whole ride may take an hour so! We will be done early enough for you to go home for dinner!
5. It’s a chance to celebrate scootering!
We are registered to attend and hope all of you can make it.  If you don’t have lights, Tuesday Morning has them cheap. I have seen them a lot of places for under $5. If you need them and won’t have time between now and Saturday to pick them up, let me know and I will snag a set for you.
In addition, I will be taking photos and writing up the story for the VCOA and sharing it on a number of sites.
We hope to see you there. Please be at Salty Creative at 4:00 PM. If you are running late, call or text at 801-668-6680!

KSR MOTO Announces Affordable New VIONIS E-Scooter

KSR MOTO Announces Affordable New VIONIS E-Scooter

A 2,000-watt electric scooter for under 2,000-euros

Electric scooters have been pretty popular at EICMA 2017 as manufacturers attempt to attract younger, more environmentally conscious riders. While Piaggio stole their part of the show by unveiling the a new electric Vespa, the storied Italian scooter maker wasn’t the only one with new high-tech machines. Other, smaller companies rolled out their own electric vehicles, among them was Austria’s KSR MOTO.

New Type of E Scooter

Spanish firm Torrot develops €6,000 electric three-wheeled scooter that offers an improved level of rider comfort at a reasonable price.

Motor scooters have, traditionally, been open-air, carefree “Roman Holiday” machines for breezily buzzing around congested urban centers. The sort of fit the niche between sporty bicycles and gnarly motorcycles. The trouble is, all three are open to the vagaries of weather, rain or shine.

Electric Light Parade Reminder

This is an early reminder that we will be participating in the Ogden Electric Light Parade on Saturday, November 25th at 4:30pm. Beyond the great fun of being a part of a parade, we need everyone to decorate their scooters with colorful LEDs for this event (It’s not called an ‘Electric’ light parade for nothing)!
If you are unaware, battery powered LEDs are super duper duper cheap. Yep, you can find sets from $5 to $10. Here’s an example of a fancy one…

Here is some additional detail about the event:

“Electric Light Parade and Opening Ceremony

Ogden’s holiday season begins the Saturday after Thanksgiving with the Electric Light Parade that fills Washington Blvd from 22nd Street to 26th Street. The parade is full of elaborate floats, sensational themes, and fantastic performers. Santa always plans his arrival in Ogden for this day. He comes in on the last float of the parade and when he reaches Municipal Gardens, he flips the magic switch to turn on the lights and illuminate all of Christmas Village. Parade floats are on display along 25th Street through the night, live entertainment is featured in the amphitheater, and the opening ceremony wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show. It’s the official kickoff to a month-long celebration of all the magic Christmas brings. For more information about participating in the parade, please call 801-629-8547.”

We will be meeting at the clubhouse at 4:30 and then heading over to the parade route. Don’t be late (Dave) as we have to get in line. The forecast right now calls for temperatures in the upper 40s and no snow. That’s means, it will be cool but it will be fun!!
Put this one on the calendar!
